Curious about Ayurveda but unsure where to start?

  • Ayurveda is one of the world’s oldest healing sciences, offering deep insights into how body, mind, and spirit stay in balance. But without proper guidance, its vast knowledge can feel overwhelming.
  • Many seekers dip into Ayurveda through books, blogs, or quick online tips — learning about doshas here or trying a diet there — yet never see the complete picture.
  • Our online Ayurveda Foundation Course was created to change that. Whether you’re completely new to Ayurveda or a wellness practitioner wanting to strengthen your basics, this course provides a clear, structured path into authentic Ayurvedic knowledge. You’ll not only understand the principles — you’ll learn how to apply them confidently in your daily life for real, lasting wellness.
Build a Strong Foundation in Ayurveda with Dr. Arun Sharma

Build a Strong Foundation in Ayurveda with Dr. Arun Sharma

Ayurveda is a science of balance, but true understanding begins with the body’s core principles — how it works, heals, and connects to the world around us.

In this 3-month online course, Dr. Arun Sharma, a traditional Ayurvedic doctor from Dharamshala, introduces the fundamentals of Ayurveda, including:

  • The origins of Ayurveda and its roots in Indian philosophy
  • Core principles of the body’s functioning, digestion, and metabolism (Doshas, Dhatus, Agni)
  • Nutrition and dietary wisdom for maintaining balance (Ahar Rasayan)
  • Preventive health through daily and seasonal Ayurvedic practices (Dincharya, Ritucharya)

This program is the essential first step before exploring advanced topics like diagnosis, herbs, and therapies taught in our Ayurveda Therapist Level 1 course.

The Curriculum

Ayurveda Foundation Course

History & Philosophical Foundations of Ayurveda

Explore Ayurveda’s origins and its connection to Indian philosophies such as Nyaya, Samkhya, Yoga, Vedanta, Buddhism, Jainism, and more — the wisdom traditions that shaped its holistic approach to health.

Core Principles of Life & the Universe

Understand how Ayurveda explains balance through Dravya (substance), Guna (qualities), and Karma (actions) — the fundamental concepts connecting body, mind, and the natural world.

The Human Body According to Ayurveda

Learn about Doshas (functions), Dhatus (tissues), Agni (digestion), Mala (waste), Ama (toxins), and Srotas (body channels). Discover Prakriti (natural constitution) and Vikriti (imbalances), with practical ways to assess both for personalized wellbeing.

Preventive Lifestyle & Rejuvenation

Study Ayurvedic approaches to prevention and daily living: Dinacharya (daily routines), Ritucharya (seasonal routines), Ahar Rasayan (nutrition as medicine), and Achar Rasayan (rejuvenating behaviors for body and mind).

The course was very practical

This course reminded me of the simplicity & common sense that is sometimes forgotten in the complexity and business of the modern world that causes us stress.

It gave me an understanding of my own health imbalance and how I can constantly balance myself depending on my current state, season etc. The course was very practical oriented as Dr. used many examples from his experience and has a gift to share them so that everyone understands. This course is different from the way I was learning about Ayurveda in the West thanks to Dr. Sharma's knowledge and it changed the way I see Ayurveda. The course gave us insights in many ways on how we can use Ayurveda in our daily life, I am excited to implement all these learnings into my life and feel motivated to spread Ayurvedic wisdom back in Europe. Thank you so much Dr. Sharma and wonderful Ayuskama team, Maria and Akshye!
